" For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."   Fr. Alfred D'Sousa   Have you noticed that people who live in the NOW do not make life their enemy? Living fully in the moment they do not use up their precious moments in a state of anxiety or depression. They are not anxious over what might (or might not) happen in the future. Nor are they depressed about what has happened in their past. This makes them very magnetic to their Good. The ego sees the Now as merely a means to an end. For the ego, the present moment is endured in order to arrive at a future state. The ego sets us up for a life of striving because it feels alone. Separate. As the late great spiritual teacher Wayne Dyer always said, ego stands for Edging God Out. One of the best ways to remain in the NOW is to remove judgment from what you are experiencing. Instead of making an event either a good or bad experience do as Eckhart Tolle does and just enjoy the "isness" of the moment. This is also called allowing. Creatures simply allow whatever comes their way. Can you be in the moment without having an opinion about it? For most of us this requires a lot of practice because we have been taught to judge everything. Some of the many ways to befriend the moment include meditation, yoga and affirmations although there are a myriad of ways. Arianna Huffington (cofounder and editor in chief of the Huffington Post Media Group) is considered to be one of the most influential women in the world. In her book Thrive, she reminds us to stop and smell the roses as she shares with us her own personal 'wake up' call that came as a result of falling asleep from exhaustion at her computer and breaking her cheekbone and slashing her eye area. "On the morning of April 6, 2007, I was lying on the floor of my house in a pool of blood. On my way down, my head hit the corner of my desk, cutting my eye and breaking my cheekbone. I had collapsed from exhaustion and lack of sleep. In the wake of my collapse, I found myself going from doctor to doctor, from brain MRI to CAT scan to echocardiogram, to find out if there was any underlying medical problem beyond exhaustion. There wasn't, but doctor's waiting rooms, it turns out, were good places for me to ask myself a lot of questions about the kind of life I was living." Not living in the moment but rather alienated from Self, Huffington gives us a cautionary tale about herself and also examples from others who, like herself, participated in excess and did not occupy the present moment. "If you are lucky you have a final straw moment before it's too late. For me, it was collapsing from exhaustion in 2007. For New York Times foodwriter Mark Bittman, it was obsessively checking his email via his in-seat phone on a transatlantic flight, leading him to confess, 'My name is Mark, and I'm a techno-addict. For Carl Honore, author of In Praise of Slowness: How a Worldwide Movement is Challenging the Cult of Speed, it was contemplating one-minute bedtime stories for his two year old to save time. For Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini, it was a skiing accident that left him with a broken neck and eventually led him to the practices of yoga and meditation." Huffington mentions these examples of people who realized before it was too late that they had never learned to relax and live in the NOW. Wayne Dyer left us with a great question to ask ourselves when we are feeling dejected or out of sorts: "Do I wish to use the present moment  - the precious currency of my life - in this manner?" Dyer invites us to become conscious of how valuable each moment is and to obliterate our tendency to use endless excuses for the purpose of escape. Love & Light,   Monica

How to End Anxiety Through MeditationWhen it comes to using meditation to manage anxiety, multiple studies have reached the same conclusion. Mindfulness can help you to stop worrying.Almost 7 million Americans experience Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and many more have occasional bouts of fretfulness due to pressures at work or home. While you can’t remove the stress from daily life, there are steps you can take to feel more at ease. Try these natural remedies.Anxiety-Related Benefits of MeditationResearchers have been studying how meditation affects a wide variety of health issues. Last year, the American Medical Association reported that meditation appears to be most effective in addressing anxiety, depression, and pain management.1.Focus on now. Most anxiety tends to be centered on rehashing the past or anticipating the future. Meditation encourages you to engage fully with the present moment. Your attention switches from useless regrets and fears to constructive endeavors.2.Connect with your body. Chronic anxiety takes a toll on your physical health through inflammation and other symptoms. Scanning your body reminds you to lower your shoulders and unfurrow your brow.3.Change your brain. Meditation alters your brain so your contentment will grow. Stress hormones decrease and serotonin levels rise. Gray matter enlarges, while the amygdala, which processes fear, shrinks. How to Meditate to Reduce AnxietyMeditation can be adapted to suit your individual needs. Take classes or sit at home for free on you own schedule.1.Start off gradually. The benefits of meditation can often be seen within a week or two, and even 10 minutes a day pays off. Set aside a brief time each day for contemplation.2.Clarify your purpose. You may want to use meditation as part of your spiritual practice or take a completely secular approach. Meditation is not necessarily religious. You can develop greater peace of mind with your own set of beliefs.3.Separate facts from feelings. Introspection helps you to distinguish between actual events and your inner thoughts and emotions. As you train yourself to think objectively, you can achieve greater control over your reactions.4.Develop insights. Examining your mind also helps you to understand yourself and others. You may discover the root causes of your anxieties and how best to deal with them. Maybe you’ll want to replace negative expectations with a sense of curiosity. Perhaps you’ll pay more attention to the kindness you receive from others instead of conflicts.5.See your doctor. While meditation is powerful, your physician may recommend treatments including cognitive therapy and medication if your anxiety persists. You can still practice meditation and other self-care to aid your recovery. Let your doctor know what you’re doing on your own.Other Natural Anxiety AidsMeditation is even more productive when you combine it with other healthy lifestyle choices. Take a look at your daily habits.1.Eat whole foods. A diet full of processed foods and sugar aggravates anxiety and depression. Get most of your calories from vegetables, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins.2.Limit alcohol and caffeine. Too much coffee may give you the jitters, and self-medicating with alcohol usually backfires. See if cutting back makes a difference.3.Exercise more. Physical activity melts away anxiety and stress. That’s especially true for vigorous aerobic workouts like running or rowing.4.Rest and relax. Fight anxiety with a good night’s sleep and occasional breaks during the day. Go to bed on a consistent schedule. If anxiety is interfering with your life, help is available. Achieve greater peace of mind through meditation, and see your doctor if you need additional support.

"Trusting your Higher Self and bypassing your ego will initially feel like jumping off a cliff blindfolded. Your ego wants you to feel that way so it can stay in control. What you discover, however, if you decide you're willing to jump off that cliff, is that as spirit, you can fly. You become free of your ego's fear and begin to live as your spirit wants you too."  Sonia Choquette Part of the willingness to work with the Law of Attraction is to be willing to see the bigger picture. Ask yourself, when you have what you want, then what? How does it affect you and others in your life? What does it mean for you? And what is the next step beyond that? Does it fit with the overall plan that you have for your life? Does it fulfill you on all levels? You can connect with others, attract and influence others by speaking to their Higher Self (but you must do this in integrity and not as a form of manipulation) Do this at a time when they would be sleeping so that you can discuss with their Higher Consciousness what you would like to happen. Visualize your desired outcome, and see everyone happy and fulfilled by that outcome that is for the Highest Good of all. I have found, with myself and with my clients, that when we trust the guidance of our Higher Selves we have more freedom then we ever imagined possible. Trusting our Higher Self allows us to live an authentic and loving life in a courageous manner. There is no more power than that (and it is the power from Source). Make the decision to allow your Higher Self to run your life and enjoy inner peace. Your Higher Self is your direct link to God/Source. In fact, it is the central task of your guides and Angels to help you to strengthen this connection, consciously, in order that your limited and fearful (fear full) ego does not run your life. When you are connected to your Higher Self your whole focus is on how to become a more loving, joyful and creative being. Your heart expands and your ego worries begin to dissolve. While it is lovely and delightful and fun to have helpers such as faeries and various guides - they are part of our team - we do not hand over our lives to them. We accept their companionship, assistance and support on our journey; however, it is desirable and spiritually wise to turn over your power to your Higher Self. Why? Because the ego thrives on control and when we allow it to take us over we can become overwhelmed with fears, doubts and insecurities. Through projections, stories and judgments about ourselves and others the ego isolates us and engages us in its maneuvers and manipulations that are not only futile but drain us of energy. As spiritual teacher, Sonia Choquette (quoted above) teaches, "when we let ego take control we become weak, fatigued, sick and old very quickly." Let your Higher Self be the leader. It never dies and therefore does not fear annihilation. When you remain connected to your Higher Self you know immediately when you are off your path. When you are off your path you receive various signals (sometimes as physical feelings and/or symptoms) that you recognize as letting you know you are on a detour! You can then make course corrections. One of the many fulfilling things that I do at my metaphysical practice called Awakening Spirit is to help my clients connect to and trust their Higher Self. This I have dis-covered, is essential for lightworkers on their journeys to their authentic selves while wishing to assist others. In my line of work I operate from my Higher Self continuously and therefore have the experience to help my clients and students to move into theirs. Our Higher Self has the bigger picture because of the perpetual connection to Source. While I work with the Higher Self of every client, the client that is coming into my mind today is a client that I worked with about a decade ago for about eighteen months or so. This client, whom I will call Chad (not his name) is a lightworker and as is typical with lightworkers, a sensitive, caring, and highly psychic individual, with a desire to heal, satisfy and please everyone he could and when Chad was referred to me by another professional, he was in crisis. Neither of us knew where our work and journey together would take us. However, both Chad and I trusted the Angels and we trusted Chad's Higher Self to guide us. And it did. Chad, with such courage, trust and faith transitioned over that period of time into Chelsea (not her real name). Chelsea gave me a gift of a warrior-faery that I keep on my altar to this day as a symbol of our strong connection to our Higher Selves and our paths. Today Chelsea is a leader in her own community and fulfilling her lightworker purpose. If you have, as yet, not established a strong connection to your Higher Self - there is no time like the present to begin! Do you meditate on a regular basis? Or do meditative practices? We need to get quiet in order to connect with our Higher Self. It need not be difficult. However, at first, if you are a beginner, the connection is subtle - but - as the connection gets stronger it becomes obvious to you when you are in your Higher Self. You will know. Some people say it is like tasting honey for the first time because it feels so sweet and desirable and you keep wanting more. For me, I feel bubbly and light and euphoric and because of my work and my mission I have developed my own ways of moving easily and effortlessly into my Higher Self - and you can too. It is practice, like everything else, and a desire to connect. (Following the guidance from Higher Self is the challenge!) When we occupy our Higher Self we automatically want a win-win situation for everyone. We wish this even for people with whom we seem to have nothing in common and with whom we do not agree. When we speak Higher Self to Higher Self we  create miracles together. If you are in conflict with someone, come out of your ego and go into your Higher Self  and speak directly to the other person's Higher Self - bypassing their ego. If you are a beginner, try this while the other person is sleeping as it is much easier to slip past their ego. As we ascend into fifth-dimensional living these skills are helping us to move away from the old third-dimensional belief that someone has to lose in order for us to win. The future of planet Earth depends on us letting-go of the old third-dimensional way of life as we ascend, guided by our Higher Self and our Angels into higher and higher dimensions. "Three things in human life are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. The third is to be kind."   Henry James "With self-discipline most anything is possible."   Theodore Roosevelt Growth is about expansion and control is contracting as it attempts to keep everything small and seemingly 'manageable.' Expand and be open to what you are willing to receive and experience - expand your thoughts, expand your ideas, expand your efforts, and expand and express your energy and your light for all the world to see. Control is an illusion. We really don't have control over anything. As my psychic mentor, the Amazing Grace, taught me so long ago, "seeking to control is like driving around with the emergency break on - it is a real drag that simply slows you down and stops the flow." You have the power of choice, and you can choose to work with the Universe to create and attract what you desire, rather than trying to control and limit the Universe, which only exhausts you and limits your ability to create and manifest. Relinquish control and you begin to expand your horizons. In order to relinquish control you need to be kind to yourself. When you are kind to yourself - you are kind to others. You let go of the reins or you bring your paddles out of the water into the canoe and you trust the Universe (Divine Order) to take you into the flow of pure potentiality and Love. It takes self-discipline to be kind. Especially when going through the periods of darkness and hardships that are part of the human condition. We have all endured hardships in our lives. Sometimes we have done this gracefully and with dignity and awareness and other times we have done this awkwardly; however, our experiences have influenced the kind of character and personality we currently possess. The path that we took has ultimately been influenced by the choices we have made in response to our experiences. Our responses and our new choices can cause us to become hard and bitter or they can lead to us becoming softer as they 'break us open' into a greater field of awareness. Enlightenment. Our struggles allow us to dis-cover resources at the depth of our inner being. Sometimes resources that we had no idea we even possessed. When we relinquish control we 'let go' and surrender to 'what is' and let the current bring us into flow with the Flow. When we are in the Flow, we are not interested in judging and controlling others because our energy and our inclination is to expand our vision of ourselves and our universe. Our inclination is to move out of our self-imposed prisons of darkness and accept the unconditional Love of the Creator. Kindness expands us. The kinder we are to ourselves and others the more clearly we see and the greater our faith becomes in Life's unfoldment and our own purpose and destiny within Divine Order. We realize we are not the center of the Universe - we are the Universe, as it is within and without us. Everything flows through us when we open rather than contract. If you are allowing yourself and your heart to be 'broken open' rather than 'sealed off' not only are you less likely to have a heart attack (an attempt to open your heart) but you are more likely to open yourself and your heart to the degree where the only response that occurs to you naturally is kindness. Maybe kindness and enlightenment are one and the same? Love & Light,   Monica     www.awakeningspirit.ca

The tendency for most people is to get into a comfort zone and build a nice little nest there. The comfort zone is made up of all the thoughts we've had and all the things we've done often enough to feel comfortable thinking or doing them. Anything that threatens to push us out of our nest makes us feel uncomfortable. "Uncomfortable" is a catch all term that encompasses many emotions; fear, unworthiness, doubt, anger, hurt and distrust, to name a few. Since we have labeled these emotions as "bad", we don't want to feel them and so we crawl back into our nests. It can be argued that there are really only two human emotions, fear and love and that all other emotions are variations on these two themes. Any negative emotion is a spin-off of fear. Except for rare occasions, most of the fear that we experience is over imagined circumstances or consequences. But, since fear keeps us from doing things, we never really check out the validity of the fear itself. A feedback loop of fear is not doing + ignorance which causes more fear to develop. When something pushes us out of our comfort zone we feel some variation of fear. The bodily sensations that go along with fear are something that we have come to label as "bad" and we want to avoid them at all costs. Let's look at what happens when the body feels fear; adrenaline, glucose and other energy producing chemicals are released into the bloodstream. Our senses actually sharpen when non-essential fears such as, "Did I remember to record my favorite show?", pop up and we gain an instant ability to focus on the task at hand. When we are outside of our comfort zone, most of the time, the only thing we are in danger of is learning something new. What is helpful in learning something new? Energy, clarity and the ability to focus - all available to you via your friend, fear. Now, am I saying that fear is the best motivator? No, but I am saying that you can change the way you look at the sensations that fear produces. Do you realize that, at a somatic level, excitement feels pretty much the same as fear? So, what I'm suggesting is that the next time you get pushed out of your comfort zone and you feel the adrenaline of fear, instead of crawling swiftly back into the safety of your nest, change the way you look at it. Choose to experience the sensations of excitement and use the clarity, energy and increased focus at your disposal to say "YES" to the experience and learn something new! ~Dr. Robert Anthony

  • The tendency for most people is to get into a comfort zone and build a nice little nest there. "The way is not hard, but it is very different."   A Course in Miracles "Your words create what you speak about. Learn to speak positively."   Sanaya Roman For me, when I think of applauding and celebrating the success of others I think about it as only natural for the Higher Self but also as a deep reflection and understanding of Oneness, gratitude, appreciation, sharing and the Law of Attraction. If you understand the Law of Attraction as a major Law of the Universe then you know that if you wish success for yourself it is important that you applaud and celebrate the success of others. Do not be fooled into believing that you can criticize successful people and still obtain your own success. It defies the spiritual laws. Why? Because when you criticize anything you hold it outside of what Abraham Hicks calls your "Vibrational Reality" or the "Vortex." (The Vortex by Esther & Jerry Hicks) Your own success can only be realized from inside your Vortex. When you criticize the success of others you actually push success away from yourself. You are out-of-alignment with Source and in opposition to the Vortex which holds everything that you are seeking. Successful people applaud and celebrate the success of others. This is magnetic and puts them in the Vortex. Feeling threatened in any way by someone else's success is an unattractive quality. A repelling quality. It pushes success away. When people do not applaud the success of others oftentimes it is due to a belief in scarcity and lack. Feeling that success is like a rare or scarce commodity some folks believe that another person's success must take something away from them - which is a myth that is perpetuated by the 'old' 3D way of thinking that is now quickly disappearing as many of us, although not all, realize that in truth everybody's success actually contributes to our own success. As we are around more and more successful people we attract even more success because their vibration helps to change ours. So, if you are around a person who is succeeding it is an indication that you are starting to have a similar vibration of success too. If you wish to continue to be in the Vortex - then begin, immediately, to believe that everyone's success contributes to your own success. Because it does. The more that people in your environment begin to succeed the more you are surrounded with the vibration of success and your success will grow much faster. The disappearing 'old' world was highly competitive. The 'new' world is highly co-operative. Evidence of this is the many 'new' communities that sometimes feel like flashbacks to the 60s and the hippie movement. These groups, such as the intentional communities, are making quite a comeback under a variety of names and are made up of what well-known researcher P.M.H. Atwater calls nerds, preps, punks, geeks, goths and tweens. While these groups are indeed creating a more co-operative world in order to support common goals and to satisfy their need to connect - Atwater cautions them to remember that group power is greater than an individual and therefore to run to the nearest exit if they are ever in a group that walks in-step and promotes blind obedience. (Children of the Fifth World) However, these 'new kids' are reminding us of the early beginnings of social movements that created positive change and they are re-establishing the power of ONE through individual voices. The 'new kids' understand that everyone has a special place and that no one else can do your work as you do it. There is an unlimited supply of success. Whatever work we are doing, we are likely either reaching a different group of people than another or we are reaching the same group/s in a different manner. Never view yourself as competing with another. That is non-magnetic. Trust that the Universe is bringing you whatever is for your highest good and for the highest good of others and realize that co-operation will always take you further than competition. Picture everyone as successful. Applaud and celebrate the success of others. Use your words to encourage, uplift and inspire others to even greater success. Celebrating the success of others is part of the balance of giving and receiving energy. When we celebrate the success of others we feel a higher energy and we are also aware of a better-feeling vibration emanating from us. As you continue to heal your past/s and raise your frequency you are noticing that it is easier to live from your Higher Self and to applaud the success of others. This is highly magnetic. I know this title is loaded. I’m actually suggesting that if you read these books, your life will change, which is a pretty bold statement.   But I’m confident they will. Why? Because they changed my life. In case you have no idea who I am, my name is Dave and I’m the owner of this site, which is a free online spiritual social network.   You see I’ve been on a serious spiritual journey for years now and I’ve read an incredible amount of books on the topic, and while I believe that you can take something away from every book, some are so profound and offer such a shocking perspective on life and who we really are, that you can literally finish that book a different person than when you started.   And if you read a combination of all these books, the impact will be even greater because you’re gathering important input from each of them and combining them to come up with your own healthy model of the world.   Bonus: Click Here for a PDF Version of this blog post! Plus new members receive a free copy of our eBook: 9 Truths That Will Turn Your World Upside Down    Anyways, enough of me rambling on, let’s get to the 8 spiritual books that will change your life:   Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1     Author: Neale Donald Walsch   Published: 1996   The first book in a series of three, this incredible conversation between Neale and God will provide you with a new perspective on how life really works.   Touching on such subjects as Law of Attraction, who you really are, and your purpose, this book is like the Matrix of books.   Once you take the red pill you can never go back, which in this case is preferable because you begin to understand that the World is much friendlier and you are much more powerful than you ever imagined!    2. Ask and It Is Given   Authors: Esther and Jerry Hicks   Published: 2010   Based on the teachings of Abraham, a collection of non-physical entities explaining how life really works through Esther Hicks, this book will open your eyes to the universal laws governing our world and techniques that you can employ to start creating the life of your dreams.   Regardless, if you believe the basic premise of Abraham or not, the impact of this book really comes down to how much the concepts identified resonate with you.   And based on my experience with Abraham teachings and hundreds of thousands of others, it resonates quite strongly and with an open-mind will shift your view of the world.   Though there are several incredible books written by Esther and Jerry, I believe this one will have the greatest impact.    3. The Power of Intention   Author: Dr. Wayne Dyer   Published: 2005   I knew I was reading something magnificent when early on in the book, I read the following quote:   “A tiny acorn with no apparent power to think or make plans for its future contains intention from the invisible field. If you cut the acorn open, you won’t see a giant oak tree, but you know it’s there.”   - The Power of Intention   The late Wayne Dyer published, more than 40 books (21 of them bestsellers) and this one, in my opinion is the best one.   It also departures from Wayne’s earlier works because he focuses on co-creating the life of your dreams by working with the energies of intention and the universe, as opposed to working hard on your own to succeed.   This book has so many insights, you’ll want to read it twice and then probably want to read his other books. That’s what happened to me.   This book is also full of practical advice, helping you understand what the faces of intentions look like, obstacles to connecting with these energies and how to apply it in certain situations in your life.   Definitely worth a read!   Bonus: Click Here for a PDF Version of this blog post! Plus new members receive a free copy of our eBook: 9 Truths That Will Turn Your World Upside Down     4. The Power of Now   Author: Eckhart Tolle   Published: 1999   Without actually using the term, Eckhart identifies the power of mindfulness like no one else.   This book is both esoteric and practical at the same time and when you actually take the time to understand what he’s saying you begin to sense the importance of this very theoretically simple concept.   In the book Tolle draws on both the teachings of Jesus and Buddha, but not at all from a religious perspective. He takes their words and interprets them from a spiritual perspective.   While it can be complex at times, paying attention to the implications of living in the moment will help you take a look at yourself and understand where you may be tripping yourself up in terms of living the life of your dreams.   This is definitely an incredible book that I believe will stand the test of time.    5. Life on Earth: Understanding Who We Are, How We Got Here, and What May Lie Ahead   Author: Mike Dooley   Published: 2016   Relatively new and not as well-known as the other books on this list, this one is similar to Conversations with God but almost seems to be written as a complementary guide to Conversations.   This book is really a collection of questions and answers gathered throughout Mike’s life.   The strange part is it was him doing both the asking and answering.   Kind of in the spirit of Abraham Hicks, Mike seems to have tapped into his higher self for the answers and in the same spirit of Abraham, it’s not a question whether you believe it or not, but rather how well the answers resonate with you.   And let me tell you, they resonated with me. He also touches on subjects such as Law of Attraction, but also focuses on concepts such as suffering and “accidents” and also provides a bunch of practical techniques you can use to create your ideal life.   Definitely a new book that I believe will gain popularity as time goes on.   6. The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself   Author: Michael Singer   Published 2007   This book blew me away! Plain and simple.   Written by Michael Singer, a man who has lived an extraordinary life, his ability to help you discover who-you-really-are and how to connect with that power within is amazing. And with such simplicity.   He also takes complicated subjects and breaks them down into simple, easy to understand concepts that anyone can apply.   The funny thing is I thought I had a strong grasp of spiritual concepts before I touched this book and then realized that I didn’t and that this book elevated my spiritual experience to deeper level.   If there is one book on this list, that will have a large impact, quickly, this is it.   7. Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender     Author: David R. Hawkins   Published: 2013   Closer to the beginning of my spiritual journey, I glossed over the concept of letting go/surrendering/releasing, probably because I had to deal with a whole bunch of other issues first, but as my journey continued, I began to see the importance of letting go.   What’s more interesting is that books I previously mentioned discussed the concept but it never resonated with me.   You can’t miss the concept of letting go with this book, because that’s the whole point of this book. Moreover, through this book you begin to understand the importance and power of letting something go.   It is in fact so powerful, that this mere act alone can change your life.   And while on the surface it may seem like a simple thing to do, be warned that the mere act of letting go will bring up a whole host of uncomfortable issues, but trust me when I say you’ll be a different person on the other side.   8. The Brain That Changes Itself   Author: Norman Doidge Published: 2007   Okay, so I have to confess something. This isn’t a spiritual book. In fact it’s based on science, but I believe the concept behind it is so important and will have such reaching implications on how you view life, I couldn’t leave it out.   If you’re wondering what it’s about, the title says it all.   Science recently confirmed that our brains are malleable. Termed neuroplasticity, our brains can literally re-wire itself with some practice, no matter how old you are.   And the implications are extremely exciting, because it confirms that you’re never too old to change, your mind or your life. So step away from the spiritual books for a little and read this one. You won’t be sorry.   So there you have it. 8 books that will change your life.   Of course there are others. Hundreds of others that will impact your life and I’m quite sure that as I continue down my journey more will be added to me list, but in the meantime, these 8 books will significantly move you down your path.     Bonus: Click Here for a PDF Version of this blog post! Do a search for Abraham Hicks in YouTube and you'll find over 1M hits. Now not all of them are Abraham talks, but thousands of them are.   As a result, it's hard to wade through all the videos and find the gems that will appeal to you. And that's why I put together this list of (definitely not exhaustive) videos, which shift your vibration, make you see things in a new light, inspire you and more.    So happy viewing and please leave a comment at the bottom if you have any Abraham videos you'd like to add.     Offer: Click here if you're interested in a 2 hour Abraham Hicks audio on The Art of Allowing   Video 1:   Abraham Hicks - Things you must do everyday     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 8:37 and in it Abraham focuses on 4 things you must do every day to align with who-you-really-are. Consider this video kind of like a list of habits that someone who wants to tap into the Law of Attraction needs to do.   These “must do’s” are simple in practice, but will take some time. According to Abraham though, taking the time do align with your source is the most important pre-condition to achieving all of your life’s desires.   Video 2:   Abraham Hicks: How easy it's to get a lot of money, just apply the simple rule   Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 11:11 and the topic focuses on how to get the “big” money in your life. “Big” is in quotes because Abraham highlights the issue with classifying money as “big” or “not big”. The issue being that the very classification of “big” implicitly equates to something that is harder to attain.   When you consider something harder to attain, then you’re adding resistance to the coming of that desire. Abraham then proceeds to offer a formula to remedy these thoughts and help you get in the right vibrational state to manifest whatever it is you desire.   Video 3:   Abraham Hicks - The easiest way to start positive momentum     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 14:28 and focuses on the easiest way to start down the path of positive momentum, even when nothing seems to be going right in your life. Abraham’s advice is to go general and what that means is explained in the video, including a detailed rampage of general positive momentum. And these examples can be applied by everyone.    Abraham also highlights that positive momentum is just that; momentum that you can get swept up in for any subject you can imagine. And that’s because law of attraction also attracts like thoughts to you. So if you’re focusing on something that makes you feel good, for example, then more feel good thoughts will come to you. And when you’re in this mode the amount of resistance you feel goes down significantly.   Further, once this positive momentum becomes a habit, then you will attract others in the same vibrational field as you.     Video 4: Abraham Hicks ~ Let go and Dream Big   Here's the YouTube Channel.   In this video, Abraham identifies a common issue that most people have when it comes to their desires, and that’s namely the issue that our desires have yet to manifest in our physical reality.   And because we place our feeling good on the condition of manifesting that desire, we choose not to pay attention to our desires because we find it painful to think about, because it’s not yet here.   In other words, we hold ourselves in resistance to the allowing of our own manifestations by ignoring our desires.   But this doesn’t have to be the case. We can decide to feel good regardless of whether we have achieved our desire or not. And that’s because we’ll never run out of our desires.   We’ll never stop wanting more, so placing your happiness on the achievement of our desires will result in us never feeling good.   An alternative is to feel good without the manifestation. In fact you can feel good about the desire by focusing your attention on how good it will feel once you have it. You just have to activate that positive vibration within you.     Offer: Click here if you're interested in a 2 hour Abraham Hicks audio on The Art of Allowing   Video 5:    Abraham-Hicks/ Change vibration instantly     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 14:37 and focuses on techniques you can use to deactivate a limiting belief (which is really a very active vibration) and eventually replace it with more aligned beliefs.   Some suggestions include not talking about your beliefs (or at least talking about it less than before) and if you find yourself in a conversation with someone who brings that belief up, knowing how to respond to lessen the active part of it.   Abraham also identifies how to treat yourself when you do find yourself thinking or talking about that limited belief, specifically focusing on not judging yourself for thinking it in the first place.     The whole objective is to bring some awareness into how you feel, what to say and how to behave, with the intention of shifting your focus from unwanted things to wanted things.   Abraham then takes the concept to the next level, highlighting what will naturally happen to you when you deactivate your limiting beliefs. What’s said in this part of the talk is profound and helps you understand deliberate creation in a new way.   Video 6:   Abraham Hicks: Heal yourself, start regenerating your body cells, become young and strong again     Here's the YouTube Channel.    This video is 10:40 and focuses on how to heal your physical body. Abraham goes into some detail about the cells in our body and how they are regenerated and also what the cells represent in terms of our connections with source.   When left to their own devices, our cells know how to automatically fix any imbalances in our body and bring our body’s back to perfect health.   What affects our cells though is the mind and what we think and how we feel. In other words we are the gatekeepers of how our body feels by either allowing our natural well being to flow or not.   Finally, Abraham offers advice about how to allow when you’re not feeling well.   Video 7:   Abraham-Hicks~ How to be unconditionally HAPPY!     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 15:27 and focuses on being happy no matter what's going on in your life.   This was touched upon in another video, but this one really gets at the heart of it. Essentially, we are all looking for the condition of the manifestation to occur before allowing ourselves to feel good.   The issue is the desires that precede the manifestations are loaded with our past beliefs and conditionings and therefore automatically introduce resistance into the equation.   To explain this in some more detail, a desire is born out of contrast. Meaning an unwanted experience causes us to desire something we don’t have in our lives (usually the opposite of the unwanted experience). So if you can’t pay your next bill for example, then the desire for more money comes about.   However, the wanting of money, to continue the example, is loaded with the bad feelings that comes from not paying the bill and keeps you focused on the fact that you don’t have the money, making you feel worse.   And now you’ve created the condition of having money before feeling good. “My bad feeling associated with not paying the bill will go away once I have the money.”   Unfortunately, you’re stuck in the vibration of “not having enough money” meaning you’ll continue to attract the like vibration of “not having enough money”.   Instead you need to do the opposite. You need to feel good first and then the manifestation will come. You become happy by gaining momentum and aligning with who-you-really are. And then the ideas start to flow, the inspirations start coming and the coincidences start to show up.   The key takeaway is to feel good no matter what.     Offer: Click here if you're interested in a 2 hour Abraham Hicks audio on The Art of Allowing   Video 8:   Abraham-Hicks | Signs MANIFESTATION is NEAR!     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 14:25 and at the beginning focuses on when to use certain tools such as meditation and visualization during the manifestation process.   More specifically, meditation is to be used to kind of reset your vibrational patterns allowing for more positive vibrations to flow through your experience, whereas visualization is better when you’re in a positive state and the actual process of visualization adds to the already good feeling.   Abraham then expands on the concept by highlighting signs that manifestation is near. The first thing you need to recognize and accept is that the manifestation has already occurred at a vibrational level.   Then ideas start to flow. You’re becoming clearer about the next steps to take. You start feeling good about that desire, even though it hasn’t shown up in your physical reality. You also have positive expectation about the manifestation.   This though can only work as long as you’re not offering resistance to it. Meaning not being discouraged by the absence of it or upset or anxious. In other words, like Abraham’s message in the other videos, you have to unconditionally feel good first.   Abraham also reinforces that you don’t need to try so hard to get the manifestation. Allow it to come into your experience. Allow the ideas and thoughts to come to you instead of trying to figure it out.   Video 9:  Abraham Hicks - Are There Spiritual Forces With Us   Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 12:30 and the first 7 minutes focuses on a topic completely unrelated from the title of the video.   The topic focuses on how to feel about the contrast. For those unfamiliar with the teachings of Abraham, contrast is the first step in the formation of a desire.   When you experience something you don’t want, a desire associated with what you do want is born. That experience is called contrast.   Oftentimes we feel bad when we experience contrast and the reason is because we condemn ourselves for feeling bad.   Abraham clarifies that contrast is a necessary step of the manifestation process that will always be there, whether you want it to or not. It’s the genesis of expansion and no matter how hard you try, it will always be there.   Therefore, it makes more sense to recognize it as a necessary step in the process and more importantly the start of a delicious new manifestation. The main message, therefore is when you experience contrast in the future, make sure to go easy on yourself and recognize it for the value contained within it.   The second part of the video answers the question asked in the title. The short answer is yes, in fact we ourselves are spiritual forces, or in other words we’re much more than our physical selves. We are non-physical beings in a physical body.   Video 10: Abraham Hicks ~ Creating Self Worth     Here's the YouTube Channel.   This video is 14:43 and focuses specifically on how to create self-worth.   The video begins by Abraham defining fear, which is explained as having a desire while at the same time holding a belief that contradicts the desire. She likens it to sticking a pencil in a well-functioning fan.   She then expands this concept to all negative emotions including lack of self-worth.   Whenever your thoughts are negative, they are in contradiction to who-you-really-are, which is an extension of source energy (or God, or pure positive energy or whatever you call it). And that’s why you feel bad. Because you are in contradiction of your true essence.   The irony, based on this understanding, is that you don’t have to find self-worth, or happiness, or joy, or loving feelings or anything. You already are all of those things. You simply have to remove the negative thoughts and self-worth, love, happiness and joy will naturally arise within you.   To better understand this, Abraham uses the example of holding a cork under water. You holding the cork under water is equivalent to your negative thoughts and you letting go of the cork and letting it naturally rise to the surface is you letting go of your negative thoughts.   Now Abraham stresses that negative feelings are not a bad thing. It’s an important indication of your disconnection with who-you-really-are. In other words you have a guidance system (your emotions) that helps you understand how close or far away you are from the real you.     Offer: Click here if you're interested in a 2 hour Abraham Hicks audio on The Art of Allowing   So there you have it. 10 videos that will you see the world in a new way and understand why you do the thins you do and how to feel good no matter what.

A lot of people have heard about the Law of Attraction, mostly through the movie The Secret, but few truly understand it. I’m writing this post to help you understand law of attraction. In its simplest form, thoughts become things. This is a universal law (like gravity), meaning that it applies to everyone. Your dominant thoughts about any particular subject has to become reality. There is no external or outside force that can change or influence this law. Though an external force can influence your thoughts, if you allow it. Your thoughts impact how you feel and how you feel is literally a reflection of your vibrations. Scientifically speaking, nothing is solid in our world. Break anything down into its smallest components and you’ll see energy moving at various frequencies. That’s what’s meant by vibration. You attract people and things in your life based on your vibrations, or in other words, based on how you feel. And each feeling vibrates at a different frequency. So if you’re angry, you’ll attract more things to be angry about. If you’re happy, you’ll attract more things to be happy about and so on. If you’re having a hard time believing this, think back on your life (or someone else’s) and you’ll quickly see it to be true. Now the biggest criticism of The Secret (warranted or not) is that it only focused on the thought aspect of the law of attraction and not the action part. Criticisms aside, action is necessary when it comes to law of attraction. But not all actions taken are equal. Trying to do something in a frustrated state is not the same as trying to do something in a calm positive state. And that’s the point. How you feel plays a huge role in the actions you take. And how you feel is a direct result of what you think. When you think loving thoughts, or thoughts of gratitude, or abundant thoughts, the same feelings and actions follow, leading to an outcome commensurate with those thoughts. Further, you perceive the world through those lenses (including other people), resulting in a process of actions and reactions.   Of course, there is no fooling the Law of Attraction (just like there’s no fooling the law of gravity). You cannot pretend to feel good when you really don’t. Your vibrations don’t ever lie. So there you have it. Of course, law of attraction can (and does) go into much more detail, including how to use it in your favor, but that will be saved for future posts. If you feel you have anything to add, or have any questions, please leave a comment and extend the conversation beyond this post.

We’ve all heard the saying: “There’s no time like the present”, which of course means the best time to take action is now. But that statement is more than a cute quote; it’s the most accurate statement you can make. There is no time like the present, because the present is all that exists. The past and future are constructs of our mind and cannot exist outside our mind. Now is all there is. Put simply, mindfulness is the acceptance of now. When you’re mindful you’re moving your mind beyond the past and future and simply being in the present. It sounds obvious and it is, but very few people live in the now. At most, we experience glimpses of mindfulness (especially in a life or death situation), but most of the time we either fret over the past or are planning for the future. In order to better understand mindfulness, it’s important to understand what it’s not, as much as what it is. Mindfulness is NOT about distracting yourself with whatever is around you. Examples include looking at your phone every 5 minutes, or checking your Facebook profile constantly, or reading the news or even multi-tasking. It’s also about not letting yourself get distracted, which is quite easy today. Email notifications, advertisements, and the conversation from your work colleagues down the hall etc. In other words, it’s fully being in the moment no matter what else is around you. There is no one right way to be mindful, but the popular suggestions are to focus your attention on whatever you’re doing at the time. For example, if you’re eating, you pay attention to every bite. You see, feel, taste and smell the food and appreciate every morsel you ingest. When you’re walking you pay attention to your body and how it moves and every step you take. When you’re speaking to another person you are solely focused on that person and what they are saying and fully engaged in every word of the conversation. When you’re working, you pay full attention to the work at hand. When you’re driving you only focus on your movements while you drive and the traffic around you. All of these suggestions come down to accepting the now and not letting your mind move to the past or future (i.e. while eating lunch you’re planning the rest of your work day). From my perspective, true mindfulness requires two steps. Accepting the now (difficult enough for most people, but possible) and deliberately interpreting the now as positively as you can. It’s one thing to accept and live in the now of a traffic jam, it’s quite another to accept the traffic jam as an opportunity to appreciate the car you sit in, the ability for you to drive at all, how well traffic flows overall, the scenery around you etc. That’s true mindfulness, because not only are you conscious of the now, your conscious of how you’re feeling about the now. Deliberate interpretation of the now seems like a contradiction, because when you’re mindful you’re not thinking, you’re simply being. But for many those are fleeting moments that are difficult to sustain. Your mind will come back, so why not use it as a tool to continue to focus on the now in a positive way. In other words, you direct where your thoughts should go, in the present moment. So there you go. Mindfulness explained the Dave Asch way. What do you think? Agree disagree? Let’s extend this conversation further by sharing your thoughts.

8 Mistakes Successful People Don't Make – or Don’t Repeat Do you keep making the same mistakes? If you do, you might find that you make little progress in your life. There is a huge opportunity to learn from your mistakes. Those that successfully learn from their mistakes wind up being highly successful. Those that repeat them struggle. Imagine how your life would be different if you never made the same mistake twice.Learn from your mistakes and vow to never repeat them:1.Successful people avoid making excuses. Excuses are preparations for failure. An excuse is a justification to fail or quit. No one will resolve your challenges for you. Take responsibility and do the best you can.2.Fail to have an objective. Life without goals is a random experience. Unfortunately, without a direction, your life will tend to get worse rather than better. Have a goal or expect to be disappointed. What are your goals right now? Do you have them written down? What do you think you’ll accomplish over the next six months if you don’t have any goals?Create 3-5 goals that you can accomplish over the next six months.3.Fail to have a plan. If you have a goal, you must have a plan for achieving it. One isn’t much good without the other. Avoid hoping and wishing your goals will come true on their own. Take the bull by the horns.4.Successful people don’t repeat their mistakes. Most of us make the same mistakes repeatedly. Whether it’s making a poor choice in a mate, overspending, or trying to gain new customers through ineffective means, people are creatures of habit. Make habits of your effective behaviors, rather than your ineffective behaviors.5.Expect others to change. Is it easy to change your own attitudes, beliefs, or behaviors? And you want to change! Consider how hard it would be to change someone else. And they don’t want to change! You can’t change others.6.Choosing comfort over progress. Perhaps the largest mistake of those who struggle in life is the tendency to place short-term comfort over long-term advantages. This is a very ineffective way to deal with life. This is the friend that asks to sleep on your couch for a few days and is still there after three months.7.Not playing to their strengths. The most successful people take full advantage of their strengths at every opportunity. While it’s admirable to work on your weaknesses, most successful people choose to avoid them. You can’t be good at everything. Use your talents and strengths as much as possible.8.Ignoring the little things. It’s the little things that will derail your efforts. It’s easy to ignore the seemingly mundane details, but those details can make all the difference in the end.Make use of your mistakes. Learn from them and decide to avoid them in the future. Life is easy if you don’t repeat your errors. What are the major mistakes you’ve made repeatedly? Why do you think you repeat them? Do you lack awareness of your mistakes?Examine the challenges in your life and ask yourself why they occurred. What could you have done differently to avoid those challenges? It’s worthwhile to spend some time each week reviewing the past week. Determine your mistakes and ensure that you don’t repeat them. Watch how quickly your life changes!
